Fire Extinguishers

Hi On the neck of my 6kg powder fire extinguisher there is a date stamp showing 2002. Do I have to get the extinguisher serviced by the beginning or end of the year? The date is probably the manufacturing date. I bought the extinguisher in 2003. Which date is important for servicing? The manufacturing date or the sale date of the fire extinguisher? Thanks for your help

Hi Your Fireworld extinguishers are supposedly maintenance free. How do I explain this to my insurance? Surely they want the extinguishers serviced? Regards Charles

Would it be possible to arrange my fire extinguishers to be serviced and also for a new fire extinguisher to be installed at the same time?

I recently had to use the fire blanket in my kitchen, can I replace just the blanket part or do I need a whole new unit with a case again?

Hello, i`m looking for an extinguisher to keep in my classic car that runs on petrol and LPG, would this be suitable? I`d prefer Co2 to powder due to the lack of mess, but all car ones seem to be powder based. What would you recommend? Would foam be an alternative? Many thanks in advance, Andy

We are extending part of the house and are letting bedrooms for holiday guests. We were told that we have to install a couple of extinguisher. No problem so far. But one of the companies we rung insisted that we had to get them installed by them and that it would be illegal to install ourselves. What is the difference of me hanging an extinguisher on the wall compared to a 'specialist'???

Dear Sirs, 2 x GLPD2G received today - many thanks. As a matter of interest there seems to be neither Serial No nor test cert with either. For insurance purposes how can I demonstrate to my insurers that these two are the new replacements for my old ones of the same size and make shown on my test cert?? To have these tested and certified locally now would cost more than the price and delivery of your two. Kind regards, DD
