My CO alarm let out 3 high pitched beeps and then nothing since? What could this be and do I need to be worried?

Make, model, age of alarm, time (Day or night) it beeped, when did you last clean it? Please.

Our CO2 alarm went off today advising Carbon Monoxide detected. We immediately opened all windows and turned fans on. We put our fur babies outside. We never had any symptoms and we believe it happened because hubby ran the zero turn lawnmower in the garage with the door just slightly open. The alarm has not sounded since then and it’s been 8 hours. I even tested the alarm. Is it safe?

For future reference I should point out that CO2 is carbon dioxide, it is what gives certain drinks their fizz, it is also what you find in these. Carbon monoxide is written as CO

 

I would agree with you that running an internal combustion engine within a confined space was not a good idea and was the cause of the alarm condition.

Since the alarm has not sounded since, but did sound when you pressed the test button, I would say there is no more CO present.

 

 

My smoke/ carbon monoxide detector beeped I think I heard two to three times then it stopped but I’m not sure I was asleep it’s 1 something A.M. I checked everything the kitchen and the two extra rooms to see if there was something that might of burned. I didn’t see or smell anything should I be worried. 

Refer to your manual - some of these type of alarms use different sequences of beeps for different things such as low battery or in the case of CO alarms a raised level of CO that is below the alarm threshold.

Hi Karen, has the device beeped again since you asked? if not, press the test button on the device, if it operates as it should, then you have no need to worry. 🙂

 Hi, my carbon monoxide detector alarm has been going off non-stop.

I have the windows and doors open in my home for ventilation and the batteries in the detector don’t expire until 2025, but the detector itself is quite dusty and I don’t remember the exact date my landlord installed it and the reset button isn’t working at all. I’ve held the button for 5-10 minutes and it still continued to sound the alarm.

idk what to do.

can somebody please respond fast and help

me?

as a first step I would strongly advise to evacuate your home in case of carbon monoxide being present and call Gas Emergency Services on 0800 111 999 for next steps. Please don't go back into your property until it has been checked and cleared for carbon monoxide as you can't see or smell the gas.

I’ve changed all the batteries and got new fire alarm detectors. Something beeps 3 times on different days.  Dry annoying. Been going on for over a year. 

That's nice, it's also common. You will have to find what it is that beeps, have you tried looking in the loft? in cupboards, in that old box that no one touches? Apart from that, it is not possible to help you from this end of a keyboard.

Hello! My alarm near our heater (which is not on) went off beeping for about under 30 seconds and is flashing now red, I have opened all the windows and it’s about 3am so I’m very scared. My family did not take it seriously and went to sleep. Is there anything else I should do? (P.S. this alarm also happens to be under our dogs bed so my guardians are blaming it on the dog)

Life safety devices should be mounted in acordance with the manufacturers instructions, I have yet to see any instructions that state it should be placed under the dogs bed.
