The company I work for have a magnetic lock system in place but these are not linked with the fire system so when the alarms go off the doors are still locked.

Now some doors have a green release function but my problem is if we do have a fire and electrics go too the old mag bolts will still be in position and the exits will be locked. Are they breaking fire safety rules ?

If they are "mag locks" similar to the picture, then these are what is known as fail safe devices. So if there is a power failure they "fail safe" (not fail secure) and can not hold the door locked in the event of a power failure.

Electromagnetic locks should release on power failure (but many have back up power supplies to prevent this), via a fire alarm interface and by a green 'break glass' override (looks like a green version of a fire alarm call point, but is a double pole isolator to drop the power to the magnet).

BS7273-4 is the relevant British Standard.

 

 

What type of mag locks are being used and are they on an escape route. Are they fail safe or are they fail secure. Is there a battery back-up and what is the method/device of access/egress.

We have triple matlock applied and there still kicking the doors in any ideas 

This is a security problem check it out with a security firm/forum and I am sure they will be able suggest suitable doors which will also meet fire safety standards.
