Passive Fire Coating for Steel

Featured Replies

Can Anyone tell me the right way to apply passive fire paint on a steel structure? I applied the regular way but when torched, no intumescent comes out and surface and surroundings get really hot. What to do?

Have you purchased intumescent paint designed for structural steelwork and have you follow the manufacturer's instruction to the letter?

I'm thinking you should be using the services of a competent passive fire protection contractor for this work, you appear not to have the knowledge required - it sounds like you are using standard fire rated paint rather than a structural steel work intumescent coating!
