Guest DaveR Posted February 15, 2021 Report Share Posted February 15, 2021 I bought a new home with the deta smoke alarms fitted in 2017, one alarm started chirping, so replaced the battery with a 9v Varta battery. When I replaced it and flipped the fuse on the box it started alarming straight away setting the whole house off - rather annoying, so I removed battery and replaced and again alarm sounding. green-foam Posted February 15, 2021 Report Share Posted February 15, 2021 It does appear that the detector has developed a problem, as you say, it is not supposed to do that. As there are no user serviceable parts all you can do is change it.
