Can an office run without emergency lighting?

Featured Replies

Hello

We have 2 emergency lights in our office which I assumed the landlord was looking after. The landlord has now been in touch to say we need to look after the emergency lighting. It seems that by law we only need emergency lighting if there is a serious risk present in the event of loss of power. I don't believe there to be a risk and so don't feel there is a need for the lights. Can I leave the lights in the office untested or do I need to remove them?

Many thanks

Tom

Tom how did you do your assessment if the two emergency lights are still functioning or were they disabled.
