I wondered if someone could advise me.

We are trying to sell our flat.

We got a certified company to do our fire risk assessment for our common area (hallway and stairs) in our property which is a house converted into 3 flats. Can we get anybody to complete the actions or even do it ourselves? We know exactly what needs doing.

Providing the person or persons are competent, as defined in the FF(FS)O) in the fields involved.

As said - it depends on the works and the competence of who is doing it. Certain work needs specialists, other is more straightforward.

Note - if someone else other than the Responsible Person does the work and it's not good enough they can't take the blame off the RP, at worst they would join them in the dock, so it pays to choose with care.
