Replacement to Firex i240c

Featured Replies

Looking for a replacement for his product. Single alarm with no links but I don't want to have to change the power block nor base plate.

Are there any options?

thanks for any help!

Hello,

I have 2 hard wired Firex i240c smoke alarms fitted. One in the hallway & one on the landing.

They both recently started chirping & despite changing the batteries they continued, even when dismounted from the baseplate/electrics. We have found a sticker inside with a 'replace by 2016' notice on them.

Can I get just the working unit, or do I need to have completely new hard wired units including the ceiling baseplates & do they need replacing by a qualified electrician?

Kind regards,

TrevP

the KF20 will fit the base of the i240c perfectly.  THe information in other web chats is incorrect on this......and also the information on amazon. I just purchased the KF20 and when i came to fit it i was preparing for some rewiring but thought i would just check to see if it fit into the i240c base plate and into the i240c connector.  It does. i have tested the alarms and they work perfectly

Hi I have firex par 230c, is there a replacement that doesn't require re wiring?

Having never heard of either, I used google to find that the firex par 230c is made by Kidde, I then asked Kidde what the replacement is, they said "The KF20R is a direct replacement for the firex par 230c."

So a big thanks to Kidde.
