My father is in a Residential Home in West Sussex. We have just bought him a motorised buggy so he can get out and about. The home have an outdoor covered plug socket he could plug his buggy into but are saying that he cannot do that for Health & Safety reasons. Could you confirm this is correct?

When the buggy is on charge will it restrict the means of escape for people escaping in the case of a fire.

If it's in a communal internal circulation area then no, as it's introducing an ignition risk to an area normally fire sterile
