Fire rating of timber

Featured Replies

i am looking for information of fire ratings on timber, section size required, density for 30min and 60 mins.

To my knowledge it doesn't exist, different timber will char at various rates hardwoods slower than softwoods and you may find such tables on the speed of char, but that is all.

Check out http://www.trada.co....fire/index.html and http://www.woodspec.ie/sectionadesignguidance/a5fireperformance/

I am looking to get a fire certificate for a trade show that I am exhibiting at for our rail system. The supports of the clothing rails are made from 12mm Plywood, that will have design spray painted on the front and rear face of the plywood. I'm wondering how do i go about getting a fire safety certificate for it?

To get a fire certificate the item in question has to be tested to destruction by an independent testing company. But they usually test things like walls, windows, ducting systems etc, are you sure its a fire certificate you are looking for.

Sam what are the organisers of the trade show asking for is it a level of surface spread of flame or combustibility or what.
