Guest clarkie Posted January 13, 2025 Report Posted January 13, 2025 Good afternoon , a recent fire door survey of new doors failed them because the contractor fitted internal door closure into doors , which I will have to replaced but wanted advice if the frames could be saved / spliced in as they don't have seals around the doors would have the seals on them. please see photos Quote
AnthonyB Posted January 13, 2025 Report Posted January 13, 2025 If that combination of closer and installation method are approved by the fire door manufacturer you may not need to change anything, most fire door companies would want you to replace the frame now it's been damaged. Quote
Neil Ashdown MAFDI Posted January 14, 2025 Report Posted January 14, 2025 Are intumescent seals and smoke seals fitted to the edges of the door leaf? Is the glazed over panel fire rated? Quote
Mike North Posted January 15, 2025 Report Posted January 15, 2025 Looking at the image, its difficult to see how else a concealed closer could be fitted. Get the manufacture and model off the closer and look for the cert. see page 3 attachedGEZE_Certificate_EN_759072.pdfGEZE_Certificate_EN_759072.pdfGEZE_Certificate_EN_759072.pdfGEZE_Certificate_EN_759072.pdf Quote
