We bought a Dorgard fire door holder and now cannot fix it with the screw kit provided as we are told that we must not screw into steel fire door. Is this true?

Where is this door located is it a final exit door and how do you propose fixing the dorgard to the fire door the kit provided is for timber fire doors?

There is actually a solution for this problem. The Dorgard can be fixed to steel doors or kickboards using an adapter set. This does not require screwing the Dorgard into the door at all. The adpater plate is fixed to the door with adhesive and the Dorgard is then screwed into the adapter plate.
