Drop down seals

Featured Replies

Is there a more durable solution than drop down seals? The premise I recently inspected has a high transit of users and the seals are becoming damaged easily.
Hardwood strips on the communal doors would be a trip hazard I assume.
recommendations would be gratefully received.

If you cannot reduce the theashold gap to 2/4 mm then smoke seals are required, dropdown or otherwise, checkout whats available.

Another solution is to include a threshold strip, hardwood or metal. These will need to close the gap to <4mm (FD30s) but has the advantage of being passive and less prone to damage. However, you seriously need to consider trip hazard so it will need to be under 10mm and contrast colour to the flooring, often chamfered too to reduce trip. I use this method on communal doors where uneven flooring is a issue and a drop down seal will not achieve the requirements.
