  1. Thanks for the reply Neil. The supplier has provide an alternative Aquamac seal in an attempt to bring the doors flush which has worked on 75% of the doors but not all unfortunately. I have checked the remaining fails today with laser and 6ft level and the frame and leaf are plumb and the correct size to the stop leaving no other reason than the hinge position being incorrect in my opinion. These are all FD30s door sets so we are relucant to start moving hinges given these have been noted already and would void the certification from the supplier in essence. We are now in a difficult postion other than to replace the doorsets which is going to be difficult to agree costs with us installing the doors, although impossible for the joiners to pick this up until they are fixed in postion. Never easy!!
  2. Hi all, We have been provide some door surveys by others to price the remedial works. The surveyor has noted that multiple doors have glass in the leafs with no stamp and there are no o&m's or testing for the doors. They are 44mm leafs with intumescent strips, fire rated hinges etc... but the remedial advice is to change the glass. Is this acceptable if we do not have the testing to know what glass type should be used??? TIA
  3. We have installed some fire door sets and after installation found the leaf to be sat 3mm proud of the frame. We have checked the frames will a level and laser and they have been installed plumb. This is now with the supplier but the doors have obviously now been deemed a fail and concerned how we can rectify this without replacement. Can any one advise of a solution instu that may bring these back within the 1mm allowance??? TIA
  4. Evening all, We are currently installing some new fire door sets and carrying out fire door remidals on a live scheme. While carrying out remidal work to the glazing / beading overhauls. We found that the glazing had been done after install and a router has been used on the corners leaving small circular gaps. What would be the appropriate way to close this off?? 1. Intumescent Sealant 2. Blue 60 foam 3. Envirograph FR filler Should the fire consultant not offer guidance on the best practice in this instance as we have recommended to change the whole door??? Thankyou Matt
  5. Thanks Neil, just wanted too be sure as previously we changed the door sets generally in this instance. Matt
  6. Good evening, Can anybody recommend where a hard copy of the updated doc B 2022 can be found, I am struggling at the moment. Also any events or courses to educate further that people could recommend for fire doors in general. Matt
  7. Good evening all...I have recently been to look at some fire door remidals and would wish to put my mind at ease regarding repair works. Am I correct in thinking that if there is no damage to the door and only damage to the Vveneer a repair is acceptable as this has no effect on the performance of the doorset. Thanks in advance.
