any advice please i have a friend who lives in a housing association ex local authority  high rise block of flats, he is a leaseholder, he has been told he will need to replace his flat entrance door .

the current door was fit in 2004 it is  a mila composite door wing frames are glazed with wire cast the frame does have intumescent strips and a door closer i  am sure that at the time the door was fit that it met guidelines at that time although he as no longer  got any documents to specify that the door is fire rated , am i correct in thinking that without any documentary evidence that the housing association   are correct in asking him to have another fit?

Can your friend confirm the flat entrance door-set is compliant? 

I think thats the problem he seems to have lost or not kept any of the documents he would have received when the door was fit also i have found out that the composite door that was renewed in 2004 was to the existing timber frame

Your friend could contact an independent fire door inspector at https://fdis.co.uk/find-an-inspector-2/ or at https://www.blueskycert.com/members-main/ but that would not guarantee that the door would be compliant, only that a competent inspector would advise on the suitability of the existing door.
