Can someone kindly point me to the best books/documents to learn about FRA. I currently play a small part in this area as part of my job but I feel like my role will become more and more involved over the next year or so

Of course the book cannot be used isolation. The process of fire risk assessment can be broad and complex, however it is a very good starting and reference point.

As crusher says "very good starting and reference point" bu it is only a start you will need to consider a number of courses, make yourself familiar with, many guides, many pieces of legislation, and BS EN documents.

I would also suggest you check out https://www.firesafe.org.uk it will give you an oversite of many relevant subjects which may prove useful.
