October 24, 20178 yr comment_10992 I'm looking for a fire alarm for our living room where we have an open fire, our current kidde standard smoke alarm sounds on a regular basis. Any suggestions? Report
October 27, 20178 yr comment_10998 Hi Anna, you could try a thermoptek (or thermally enhanced) smoke alarm that has both a smoke alarm and a heat alarm integrated. If smoke without heat is detected, the alarm will be less sensitive to the smoke. If the smoke continues it will of course still alarm. Harry Report
October 27, 20178 yr comment_11001 Smoke alarms only react to smoke, since you have an open fire and your smoke alarm activates, I can not help but wonder if smoke is coming into the room, when was your chimney last swept? and have you got a carbon monoxide alarm? you can get a CO alarm for less than £15, Click here Report
