Guest AnnaD
I'm looking for a fire alarm for our living room where we have an open fire, our current kidde standard smoke alarm sounds on a regular basis. Any suggestions?
Safelincs
Hi Anna, you could try a thermoptek (or thermally enhanced) smoke alarm that has both a smoke alarm and a heat alarm integrated. If smoke without heat is detected, the alarm will be less sensitive to the smoke. If the smoke continues it will of course still alarm. green-foam
Smoke alarms only react to smoke, since you have an open fire and your smoke alarm activates, I can not help but wonder if smoke is coming into the room, when was your chimney last swept? and have you got a carbon monoxide alarm? you can get a CO alarm for less than £15, Click here
