Doors within flats

Featured Replies

Can you please advise me of the following.
Your website states that "Fire doors will have automatic closing devices (fire door closers) fitted. " but is this talking about compartmentation doors like flat entrance doors or does it include bedroom doors to flats, as Building Control state that perecos are not required on bedroom doors, even ones that open onto a 30min protected hallway withing the flat.
Can you help clarify please.

Dave

Flat front doors still require closers.

Flat internal doors used to require closers, but this was dropped in revisions to Building Regulations as they were almost universally removed by residents. You don't need to fit them and if you have an older flat you no longer need to retain them.
