fire door required?

Featured Replies

Having a 2 storey side extension built on my property consisting of a downstairs garage and rooms above it.

The main entrance door is on the side of the house at the front  with the new garage behind it and the bedrooms overhanging to form a car port open onto a driveway.

There is no direct access between garage and house, but have been informed that the entrance door to the house needs to be FD30.

Have checked the fire regs and these only relate to doors/windows with direct access between garage and house.

see attached crude pic

Any thoughts as to whether a fire door is required?
