August 7, 201312 yr comment_5654 Just a quick question on fire doors. I recently visited my childs new school which consists of 3 floors. Although there was detection in the corridors i noticed that none of the classrooms along the corridors had fire doors fitted. my thoughts are that they should be fire rated to protect the escape route. Can you confirm if classrooms should have fire doors? Regards Gary Report

Check out http://schools.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/Assets/designing-and-managing-against-the-risk-of-fire-in-schools.pdf and http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/buildingregulations/approveddocuments/partb/bcapproveddocumentsb/bcapproveddocbvol2/ Report

September 11, 201312 yr comment_5732 How far does a person have to travel before they reach a place of comparable safety. (a protected route leading to a place of ultimate safety, outside and away from the premises) Report
