January 24, 20242 yr comment_40830 Hi. I'm looking to replace 3 660MBX's as 2 are now intermittently triggering and all are within a year of their end life. The site shows a suitable replacement; easichange® SBBRKSM but at various points mentions a twist fit base. The bases on all mine are the push fit type, as shown with the 760MBX. Can anyone confirm that the easichange® SBBRKSM will happily connect to this push fit base? Thanks Andy Report
January 29, 20242 yr comment_40914 Good morning the SBBRKSM alarms will fit your 660MBX push fit bases however the colour of the SBBRKSM doesn't quite match your unit. Additionally the 660MBX push fit base is already a deep base which will in combination with the SBBRKSM alarm result in a bulky unit. So you can use the replacement but it might not be aesthetically pleasing. I hope this helps. Rahel Report
March 6, 20242 yr comment_41738 Hi, I’m looking at replacing x2 BRK 670MBX units, there are 7 units in total for my alarm system. My question is can I just replace x2 to work with the 5 that are working fine? Thanks Rob Report
March 11, 20242 yr comment_41831 Hi Rob you can replace your BRK670MBX with our Easychange SBBRKSM smoke alarms. In our testing there don't appear to be any issues when mixing the old BRK670MBX units with our SBBRKSM, but we can't guarantee that it will work reliably with a larger system or over long periods of time. Therefore we would recommend that you replace all 7 of your units at the same time. I hope this helps Rahel Report
March 11, 20242 yr comment_41838 It may seem an odd suggestion, but I would agree, if you are having to change two smoke alarms, you would be better off changing all of them now, rather than wait till you have to change the others, this also means that you can install a totally different brand, one that does not require a "conversion kit" Report
October 24, 20241 yr comment_45343 I have a Dicon 370MBX fire alarm and wonder if the SBBRKSM easichange is compatible with this unit? Report
October 28, 20241 yr comment_45379 Hi the Dicon 370MBX hasn't been tested for compatibility with the SBBRKSM Easichange alarms and therefore I wouldn't recommend using this unit to replace your alarm. thanks Rahel Report
Tuesday at 10:285 days comment_56094 My system comprises of 2x 660mbx alarms and 1x 650mbx alarm. Can I replace all 3 with SBBRKSM smoke alarms Report
Wednesday at 11:384 days comment_56098 I did some checking and I found the following"The difference between the 600 and 700 series was the base itself – 600 series alarms had a hanging plug for manual connection and a twist-fit base, whereas 700 series alarms had a push-fit base which connected as the alarm was mounted."According to the above the important number is the first one, 6 in your case. Any mbx detector that begins with 6 should have a twist fit base. Since you have both (and I don't) I suggest you take a look / picture of a 660 (you have two) and then the 650 and compare the bases to establish if they are the same.It would be helpful to others if you came back and let us know either way.
