Can a cabinet maker fit a fire door

Hi, I have been asked to help with some general maintenance jobs within a local school, one of which is to replace a solid fire door with a small glass panelled fire door. As a cabinet maker I'm happy to do this but concerned there may be regulations stipulating certification of fitter which I obviously don't have.

Can you advise whether I should avoid this job and allow a professional to carryout the work?

Regards

British Woodworking Federation and TRADA have approved contractors but I would imagine most fire doors are fitted by competent joiners. Providing it is fitting and not alterations then most good joiners who knows what they are doing could meet the necessary standard. Instruction should be included with the door set but I would suggest you download ASDMA Best Practice Guide to Timber Fire Doors which is the the bible regarding fire doors.
