When is a fire door FD30 or FD30s

Featured Replies

Could you please help me clarify the following. In the communal hallways of a block of flats there are doors with an FD30 certification label on their top edge. The doors then also have intumescent seals and cold smoke brushes set into the door frame. My question is whether that door should be properly referred to as being FD30, FD30(s), upgraded FD30(s) or something else.

FD30s. The certified door blank (& presumably matched frame and ironmongery) and intumescent seals make it FD30, the cold smoke brushes FD30s.
