With reference to EN 1634-1, is it possible to applied uninsulated fire rated glass for fire door assesmblies? Are there any size limits for glazing of fire door assemblies complied with EN 1634-1?

BS EN 1634-1 2008 is the European standard for testing fire resistance of fire doors equivalent to BS 476 pt 22 and it shows how the test should be conducted and not how the fire doors should be constructed. You need to look elsewhere to consider how the fire door should be constructed. The fire doors in our block of flats say EN 1634 on the hinge to half hour FR, and these sprung hinges seem to close the lobby fire door. However, there is no self closer on the fire door. Do we need to install a self closer as well or can we rely on this sprung hinge to EN1634? Thanks...

If these hinges are floor hinges and not single axis door hinges then they may be acceptable because they meet the required standard.

BS EN 1634-1:2014 is for Fire resistance and smoke control tests for door and shutter assemblies, openable windows and elements of building hardware. Fire resistance test for door and shutter assemblies and openable windows, and nothing to do with self closers.

BS EN 1935 is for hinges and  BS EN 1154 is for self closers, it looks like the door is a fire door to a 30 minute standard but may require a self closer if they are single axis hinges, because the sprung hinges are not acceptable.
