  1. |Hi Neil, any idea what good serviceable condition for hinges means? We have had a fire safety assessment carried out and they've suggested to potentially replace hinges. The only details they've given is that they're 'weeping'. This looks to me to just be old oil so could it not just be wiped off and lubricated? any advice would be greatly appreciated, Jack
  2. Hi, I work as a facilities and plant engineer in the UK. My employer recently had a fire risk assessment carried out throughout the whole site. In this, it was picked up that the fire door hinges were weeping and potentially needed replacing. My question is, how do I know when to replace the hinges and when to just wipe the leaking oil off? Are there any requirements of the hinges and what is checked during the inspection? I have checked and they are grade 7 hinges so are suitable, just have some oil leaking out most likely due to being lubed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Jack
