  1. Set of stairs leads top of building. End of stairs there is a 5 metre walk to the front door of apartment. Should there be a fire door in between top of stairs and front door? Also opposite the front door is a final exit door that could can lead to a horizontal escape to next buildings terrace. This door has no push bar but a key in a glass box. Alsoooo...The stairs don't have any manual or automatic ventilation, is this place in need of some work???

Should archives have a sprinkler system?? RA says there is ignition sources regarding fluorescent lighting. That's it. There are 3x13A rated extinguishers.
  3. There is a domestic flat which the building lets out. Should the fire alarm system have fire sounders from the offices in the domestic premises? And should the premises have automatic fire detection that informs the offices of fire from the flat? TD
  4. 50's-60's Would you recommend a suppression system in the diesel room?? All that diesel fuel being in the building.
  5. Found out the flat is not let out but houses staff and/or visitors from foreign offices from time to time. Would a L1 or L2 system be needed due to the occupancy being staff??
  6. No oil, heating powered by gas boilers. Generator located on ground floor. There is a day fuel tank in the same room. If there is a fire alarm the valve drops and sends the fuel to the diesel tank in the basement. The basement has a foam riser from outside and the outlet is positioned above the fuel tank. So firefighters can plug into it if needed. However, I consider the generator a medium fire risk as it is well maintained and if a fire existed it would dump the fuel away from the engine. I believe that if a supression system was installed as well, this would mitigate any damage from an early stage.
  7. There is a domestic flat which the building lets out. Should the fire alarm system have fire sounders from the offices in the domestic premises? And should the premises have automatic fire detection that informs the offices of fire from the flat? TD
  8. In my 6 storey building of offices on floors 5 to 6 there are no automatic fire detection systems on these floors but call points. The fire doors on these floors have a 8mm gap with no Instumicent strips or cold seals. However the landing past the fire door do have sensors. Do the doors conform??
  9. I have a diesel generator on the ground floor, with a fuel tank one floor below in the basement. The only mitigation of suppression is via a fixed foam inlet from outside which would direct the firefighters foam branch above the diesel fuel tank to the floor below the engine. The building is full of offices. Should a fixed integrated system be installed or is this a generic system??
