At my workplace the designated smoking area is directly at the other side of a fire door. Anyone opening this door would hit whoever was standing on the other side.

Is this OK for my work to be doing this?

    I would think that if the fire alarm operates they would be moving the a place of safety like everybody else and unlikely to block the door.
