Guest stuart Davis Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 HI, I'm the caretaker of a school and we just had our annual fire and emergency light service carried out by a new company. They have failed all our external bulkhead lights as they didn't hold charge for the 3 hrs. I'm not sure the external lights have formed part of the test before. Can someone confirm if this is a statuary part of the test or show me a link that confirms this. Thanks in anticipation. Stuart Quote
AnthonyB Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 Yes, external emergency lighting has been required for decades and has always been subject to the same testing regime as other emergency lights as set down in BS5266. Either your previous company wasn't doing a proper job (quite possible, sadly) or they were fine before. Quote
Guest External Lights Posted June 9, 2020 Report Posted June 9, 2020 Thank you Anthony for confirming this for me, that's really helpful. The fact that ALL the external lights failed this annual test, tells me that they weren't previously being tested. Many thanks Stuart Quote
