April 24, 20197 yr comment_14000 hi all, im after some advice on access for fire dampers. we recently had a company in to carry out fire damper maintenance and a lot failed because of not having access panels either side of the damper. they did all have at least one and you could drop test it and reset it, but they mark it down as a fail. is it change in legislation or have they always needed 2 points of access? the building was built and signed off in 2009. thanks in advance Report
April 25, 20197 yr comment_14004 The guidance used will Building Regulations which is likely to be Approved Document B (fire Safety) volume 2: Premises other than Dwelling Houses so check out page 86 which should indicate what was require during construction. All the guidance used for fire dampers is indicated in that section. Check out http://www.asfp.org.uk/slides/The risk assessment of fire damper installations.pdf and http://asfp.associationhouse.org.uk/default.php?cmd=210&doc_category=123. Report
