E1151 unit beeping intermittently

Hi,

I have 2 1151 smoke alarms. They both have the green L E D showing so mains power is connected. There is also an intermittent red L E D flashing and they are beeping every few minutes. Both units were fitted by a professional electrician and are around a year old. Please can you advise how I can stop the units beeping as noone in the house will get any sleep tonight.
