Smoke Alarm Faulty

Featured Replies

Hi

We live in apartments, we own our flat. In recent months the communal fire alarm keeps going off, it says its coming from our flat, but no smoke alarm has gone off. We requested each time with the maintainance company there is a fault and it needs looking at, they would keep resetting it which never fixed it. They also accused us of setting it off on purpose. A new company has taken over (managing it on behalf of the previous maintenance company) we have since had a letter saying because there has been three call outs we would be charged. But how can we be charged when we have said there is a fault? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
