Smoke alarms for tents

Featured Replies

I work with a youth organization in the voluntary sector. My committee has been directed to purchase smoke detectors for each {max2-man} tent on a 12-tent campsite. I cannot find a suitable item/supplier. All detectors are for fixed structures eg houses and buildings. Please can you advise if there is detector for tents/camping? If such a device exists, is there a suitable CO detector as well? If "tent" devices are not available, where in the tent should building devices for smoke and CO be positioned?

Many thanks.

Charlie

I'd seriously consider whether you really need them at all, what is the actual risk of fire or CO build up whilst the occupants are asleep?
