I am treasurer of my local residents association. We hold committee meetings in our local church and hold the occasional coffee morning at the church. Can you please advise me whether we should keep a record of those arriving and leaving for fire purposes.

Not necessary, providing you have a fire marshall or marshalls who will sweep the premises, if the fire alarm is initiated, to ensure the premises is empty and everybody is safe.
