Emergency lighting on ship

We have 4no large open decks. Two decks have gangways to shore with internally lit exit signs.
The other decks have stairs leading to the decks with gangways. Should the stairways be signed with maintained lights or could they be non maintained?
As the ship is themed, to be from an age before electricity, as few modern intrusions need to be used as possible.
This ship is open to the public.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 does not apply to ships and is outside my area of expertise you should contact the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) who should be able to assist you.

Check out https://www.gov.uk/health-and-safety-on-ships/fire-prevention for more information.
