    The fire rated front door needs to protect the internal MofE from a fire within the flat. And not all persons visiting the block have access to the rear exits.

    The riser is considered a protected shaft. More important will be the standards of fire stopping/compartmentation around the riser cupboard and door leading to the stair lobby/MoE.
