Fire escape route requiring entry of a building

Featured Replies

Hello, I am working on a new build residential project.

Because of the layout of the building the secondary escape route is across an open terrace at the centre of the building. The doors facing onto this terrace therefore need to be capable of being unlocked and accessed from the outside in the event of fire. The doors will need to be locked at most times for security reasons. Is there simple and secure mechanism that allows doors to be unlocked from the outside in emergency situations. If not what form of electrical hard wired locking systems would you recommend and are there specific suppliers you would recommend in the UK?

Thanks for your help and let me know if you need any further clarification.

Best
Paloma
