Our Beko freezer went on fire overnight, about thirty years old. Apart from reporting to Beko, is there anything else we should do ? Unfortunately we haven't got the model no. as it has gone to the tip, my husband has visited tip and the follow- on place and explained to them but the freezer has already been disposed of.

Without knowing what started the fire, I would recommend having an electrician inspect the wiring as soon as possible, to check for electrical faults as well as any damage to the socket or circuits caused by the fire.

If the room suffered any fire damage, I would also recommend having the property inspected for structural integrity before any work is done to redecorate which may cover up signs of instability or critical damage that needs to be addressed more thoroughly.

Without the model number to identify it or the actual freezer to physically analyse, there won't be a lot Beko could do, unfortunately. Though, depending on where the freezer was located, you may have incidentally caught it in photos from a few angles. If so, it may still be worth reporting the incident to Beko with those photos and your best estimate for when it was purchased, so that they are at least aware of it even if they can't identify the model to issue a safety notice.
