  1. Hi Tom, I've been reading through most of the posts re-FRA. I live in a converted Georgian house with 5 flats. It is a Grade 2 listed building and we are all directors of the management company. We had an FRA about 2 months ago (paid £400 for it).... so far, none of the extensive fire safety work stated in the assessment has been scheduled despite myself and one other resident getting several quotes for the work. There seems to be a great deal of nonchalance and disinterest in the fire safety issues and so far we only have a list of priorities, the first of which should happen in July. Part of the reason for the lack of movement on the work is, admittedly, that we have limited funds right now. However, some of the residents have stated that they don't see the necessity of the work stated in the FRA. My question is, is the FRA legally binding ie. are we committing an offence as a management company, by failing to act on the FRA, which gave a timescale of 4-6 weeks to complete the work? I feel as if I'm the only person in the building apart from one other resident (who is moving in July) taking the Fire Risk Assessment seriously! I would be most grateful for your advice.
